Scholarships

Empowering Growth Through Education

As an organization dedicated to promoting massage education, we are excited to announce the launch of our new scholarship program to increase access to classes for our LMT community. Designed to support both aspiring and practicing massage therapists in their educational journeys, we are pleased to be able to offer these scholarships and further our mission. Applications are accepted at all times; scholarships are awarded on a bi-annual basis in June and January.


Our Scholarships

Future Therapist Scholarship

  • The North Cascade Massage Connection, a not-for-profit continuing education facilitation organization, bi-annually administers $500 via check to a Washington State Department of Health certified massage therapy school or directly to recipient wherein one student who meets the scholarship requirements is currently enrolled to assist the recipient to complete said program. Scholarship Awards will be used only for qualified tuition and related expenses within the meaning of IRC § 117(b)(2), and for room and board. Accordingly, a Scholarship Award can be used only for: (1) tuition and fees required for the enrollment or attendance of the student at a qualifying institution; (2) fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction at such an educational institution; and (3) room and board.

  • Awardees are to be selected on an objective and non-discriminatory basis. The group from which the grant recipients are to be selected will be open to the public in the form of an online submission with the intention to carry out the purpose of the grant.

    Recipients of the NCMC Future Therapists Scholarship must be (1) currently enrolled in a Washington State Department of Health certified massage therapy program, (2) currently residing in the Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan or Island counties of Washington State. Furthermore, selection of the grantees (3) will be based upon a financial need in accordance to the household income of the applicant rated as follows; 5 points for sub $15,000 in annual household income, 4 points for $15,000 to $30,000 in annual household income, 3 points for $30,000 to $45,000 of annual household income, 2 points for $45,000 to $60,000 of annual household income, 1 point for $60,000 or more in household income.

    The NCMC Outreach Scholarship Committee reserves the right to impose additional, minor reasonable restrictions and/or requirements upon the awarding of NCMC

    Outreach School Scholarship and the administration of such grants. Any substantial or material changes will be made only with the approval of the North Cascade Massage Connection’s Board of Directors.

Continuing Education Scholarships

  • The North Cascades Massage Connection, a not-for-profit continuing education facilitation organization, bi-annuallly will administer a $150 check to five currently registered and licensed massage therapists residing in the Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan and Island counties to enable recipients to complete a continuing education event of their choice and submit a written reflection of the event. Such scholarships may be used to cover the cost of tuition and related expenses and may not be used to cover the cost of attending events held by North Cascade Massage Connection.

  • Awardees are to be selected on an objective and non-discriminatory basis. The group from which the grant recipients are to be selected will be open to the public in the form of an online submission with the intention to carry out the purpose of the grant.

    Recipients of the NCMC Outreach Scholarship must be (1) currently registered licensed massage therapists in Washington State, (2) currently residing in the Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan or Island counties of Washington State and (3) planning to attend a continuing education program aimed to enhance the professional skills related to the field of massage within a year of award, meeting the Washington State DOH continuing

    education requirements via RCW 246-830-475. Furthermore, selection of the grantees (3) will be based upon a financial need in accordance to the household income of the applicant rated as follows; 5 points for sub $15,000 in annual household income, 4 points for $15,000 to $30,000 in annual household income, 3 points for $30,000 to $45,000 of annual household income, 2 points for $45,000 to $60,000 of annual household income, 1 point for $60,000 or more in household income.
